The Green Bay Packers will get a shot at beating the defending NFC North champion Detroit Lions in Week 1, according to a report from Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Sunday, Sept. 7, game is scheduled for a 3:25 p.m. Central start.

The Packers haven't played at home in the season opener since 2018. Hosting the Lions in 2025 will snap a six-year streak of playing on the road to open a season and will mark the first Week 1 home game for Packers coach Matt LaFleur.

Last season, the Lions swept the Packers without the services of their top three edge rushers, Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, and Josh Paschal in both games. Additionally, Jameson Williams missed Week 9, while DJ Reader and Alex Anzalone were both unable to play in Week 14. All six starters are expected to be ready to go this offseason.
