Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters that star guard Stephen Curry is the "Sun" of the team offensively and further said that the 16-year veteran is still at or close to the "peak of his powers.

But Curry also has just two years left on his contract, setting himself up for free agency in 2027. He's no dummy--stars Butler and Draymond Green are also signed through 2027, which means the organization is likely to be ready to pull the plug on the whole works then.

“It’s the great ‘What if?’” Curry pondered Thursday morning inside the Warriors’ home arena, where the only signs of life were the WNBA’s Valkyries getting ready for their season opener. The Warriors’ season came to an end Wednesday night with Curry unable to do anything but watch.
